How Satellite Collision Prediction Works: SGP4, TLEs, and KD-Trees

A technical deep-dive into the algorithms behind collision prediction — from TLE data ingestion and batch SGP4 propagation to KD-tree spatial indexing that screens 29,790 objects in 9.6 seconds.

CubeSat Collision Avoidance: A Complete Guide for University Teams

Your university CubeSat is in orbit alongside 29,790 tracked objects. This guide covers monitoring setup, response protocols, and affordable collision screening solutions — starting from free.

Satellite Collision Risk Assessment: The Complete Guide for Operators

Everything satellite operators need to know about collision risk — from conjunction screening and space debris tracking to probability of collision calculations, available tools, and building a screening program.

Validating Satellite Conjunction Screening Against Real CDM Data

We validated our TLE-based conjunction screening against 100 real Conjunction Data Messages from Space-Track. Here's what we found — the good, the bad, and the physics.

FCC 5-Year Deorbit Rule: What Satellite Operators Need to Know

Complete guide to the FCC's 5-year deorbit rule for satellite operators. Understand compliance requirements, timelines, penalties, and how to build a deorbit plan.

Open Source Satellite Tracking Tools in 2026: The Complete Guide

Comprehensive guide to open-source satellite tracking and space situational awareness tools. Covers orbit propagation, conjunction screening, ground station software, and visualization.

We Found 441 Close Approaches in 6 Seconds on a $250 Computer

On February 9, 2026, we screened 14,368 active objects and found 441 collision threats. Every day, hundreds pass within kilometers of each other. We screened the entire catalog in under 6 seconds and found 441 real collision threats — including Hubble with no way to dodge, and cross-operator close calls at 11.55 km/s.
